COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Tech Women's Basketball has added one of East Tennessee's brightest stars to its 2025 signing class with the commitment of Maliyah Glasper, a 5-6 point guard from Gatlinburg-Pittman High School.
A proven playmaker and fierce competitor, Glasper has been instrumental in leading Gatlinburg-Pittman's tradition-rich program under Head Coach Katie Moore. The Lady Highlanders are regular contenders in the TSSAA State Tournament, and with Glasper at the helm, they're poised for another deep run this season.
A member of the 1,000-point club, Glasper is a three-time All-State selection, Region MVP, and District MVP, helping guide her team to three District Championships and four straight Region titles. Last season, she averaged 18.7 points, 3.0 assists, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.3 steals per game, showcasing her ability to impact every area of the court.
Glasper also gained valuable experience playing travel basketball with East Tennessee Air, where she sharpened her skills against elite competition.
Off the court, Glasper is a member of the Honor Roll and plans to major in Psychology at Tennessee Tech, with aspirations to become a sports psychologist.
When asked why she chose Tennessee Tech, Glasper said, "I chose Tech because God opened this door for me at exactly the right time and I knew it was meant to be."
Her competitive spirit, leadership and determination fit perfectly with Coach Kim Rosamond's program and the Golden Eagle culture built on family, toughness, and purpose.
"Maliyah is a confident floor general who makes everyone around her better," said Rosamond. "She brings energy, skill, and leadership every time she steps on the court. Her winning mindset and competitive spirit are exactly what we look for in a Golden Eagle."
With her signing, Glasper becomes another key piece of a talented 2025 class ready to continue Tennessee Tech's tradition of excellence — both on and off the floor.
