COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech head women's basketball coach Kim Rosamond announced Wednesday the promotion of Lilly Bridges to assistant coach. Bridges, who served as the program's graduate assistant during the 2024-25 season, steps into the role after a year of impactful contributions behind the scenes.
"Lilly has absolutely earned this opportunity," said Rosamond. "She is creative, passionate, and an outstanding communicator. She brings so much to the table with her ability to think outside the box and her natural connection with today's players. Over the past year, she has consistently added value to our program through her initiative, fresh ideas, and relational approach.
"She's also done an incredible job managing our social media presence and helping us tell the story of Tennessee Tech Women's Basketball in a way that reflects our culture and energy. Her work ethic and impact made this a very natural next step, and I look forward to seeing her role grow and evolve on and off the court in this new position."
As graduate assistant, Bridges played a vital role in Tennessee Tech's 2024-25 championship season, assisting with film breakdown, scouting, player development, and daily operations. Her behind-the-scenes work helped fuel one of the program's most successful campaigns—both on the court and in the classroom.
A native of Eatonton, Ga., Bridges brings a deep knowledge of the game and a strong commitment to the student-athlete experience. Her coaching career began after a standout playing career at Gatewood High School under current associate head coach Melanie Walls. She quickly transitioned to the sidelines as the head junior varsity coach and assistant varsity coach at North Oconee High School in Athens, Ga for three years while also pursuing her undergraduate degree at the University of Georgia.
"Being part of this program has been an incredible experience," said Bridges. "I'm grateful to Coach Rosamond and the entire staff for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to continue pouring into our student-athletes. As a young female in the profession I'm excited to step into this new role and help build on the strong foundation we've established."
With Bridges joining the coaching staff, Tennessee Tech continues to reinforce its culture of internal development and championship-level standards.
