COOKEVILLE, Tenn.?The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagle men's basketball team is bridging the past to the present on Saturday, Jan. 29 when it will celebrate Alumni Night in Eblen Center. The Golden Eagles will host Tennessee State at 7:30 p.m., the second game of a doubleheader against the Ohio Valley Conference rivals from Nashville. All former Golden Eagles are asked to come back for this special evening.
"We look forward to having many of our alumni come back to Eblen
Center and celebrate the great tradition of Golden Eagle
basketball," said Golden Eagle head coach Mike
Sutton. "It will be another great night in Eblen Center
as we host one of our long-time rivals in TSU, and we hope to see a
lot of our fans and former Golden Eagles in the stands. It
also gives us the opportunity to honor and single out some of the
former Golden Eagles for their hard work at this great
university."
Those alums coming back to Eblen Center for this special occasion
will receive tickets for the night's doubleheader, which also
features the Golden Eaglettes in action against TSU at 5:30
p.m. Each alum will be recognized at half-time. They
will also have the opportunity to attend the team's afternoon
shoot-around, and be invited to take part in the pre-game meal with
the team.
"It gives us the opportunity to give something back to those who
have helped make this program what it has become," said
Sutton.
TTU would like to have those alums who plan attending to RSVP in
advance so that they may be recognized ahead of time.
The night will also be special because TTU will be celebrating Drew
Hixon Night. Tech will welcome back Drew and his family back
to Tech for the first time since he was injured on the football
field in September.
