Tennessee Tech men’s golf turned in an impressive showing across the first two rounds of the Austin Peay Intercollegiate, positioning itself in fourth place heading into Tuesday’s final round.

DICKSON, Tenn. — Tennessee Tech men's golf turned in an impressive showing across the first two rounds of the Austin Peay Intercollegiate, positioning itself in fourth place heading into Tuesday's final round.
The Golden Eagles posted a two-round total of 576 (297-279), highlighted by a nine-stroke improvement in Round 2 that marked one of the best team scores of the day. Tech's second-round 279 (-9) showcased the squad's ability to respond and climb the leaderboard.
Leading the way for Tennessee Tech has been Haden Maxwell, who sits in second place individually at 5-under par (139). Maxwell followed an opening-round 71 with a strong 68 in Round 2, putting himself firmly in contention for medalist honors.
Bryson White also delivered a standout performance, finishing the day tied for third at 4-under (140). Like Maxwell, White showed consistency with rounds of 71 and 69, giving Tech a powerful one-two punch near the top of the leaderboard.
Nicklaus Etherton contributed to the team's surge with a bounce-back second round, firing a 69 after a first-round 77 to move into a tie for 23rd at 2-over. Meanwhile, Cooper Gettler improved by five strokes in Round 2, carding a 73 to aid the Golden Eagles' team total.
As a group, Tennessee Tech's depth and resilience were on full display in the second round, with multiple players shaving strokes and helping the team gain ground on the leaderboard.
Competing as individuals, Drew Bolton led the extra entries for Tech, sitting in 30th place at 4-over (148), including an even-par 72 in Round 2.
With two players inside the top five and momentum on their side, the Golden Eagles are well-positioned for a strong finish.
