BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – For the second straight year, an impressive three members of the Tennessee Tech women's golf team were recognized as members of the 2024-25 All-Ohio Valley Conference Women's Golf Teams prior to the league's annual postseason tournament.
Sophomore Chloe Griffith, who was named to the All-OVC Team last year as a true freshman, picked up All-OVC First Team honors on Saturday, with the awards now split into two squads. Junior Kaydi Rhodes earned a spot on the All-OVC Second Team, which is her first league accolade. Freshman Kailey Lane joined Rhodes on the All-OVC Second Team and was also selected to the OVC All-Newcomer Team.
Heading into the OVC Championships, Griffith picked up her second straight All-OVC nod after ranking fifth in the league in scoring average. She paced the purple and gold during the regular season with a mark of 75.3 over 28 rounds.
Twice during the year, the Huntington Beach, Calif. native earned OVC Women's Golfer of the Week honors. Griffith led the Golden Eagles in six of their nine team events on the year, placing as high as third at the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate.
Ranking 11th in the league in scoring average with a mark of 77.1, Rhodes picked up her first career All-OVC recognition while competing in 25 of Tech's 28 rounds. The Jackson, Mo. native twice paced the purple and gold on the season.
Lane joined Griffith as the league leaders in rounds played, with 28 each, rounding out her first regular season at the collegiate level with a scoring average of 77.9. The Harriman, Tenn. native ranked 14th in the OVC in stroke average, leading the Golden Eagles at the Lady Bulldog Invitational.
The Golden Eagles will focus on the OVC Championships starting Sunday morning, taking on action in Muscle Shoals, Ala. through Tuesday, Apr. 15. Play will take place on the Fighting Joe Course at The Shoals, a Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail course.
