Golden Eagles rank sixth after round one of Huntsville.org Intercollegiate
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team finished the first round of action at the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate, sitting sixth among the 12-team field while tackling a large portion of round two.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team finished the first round of action at the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate, sitting sixth among the 12-team field while tackling a large portion of round two.
Competing on the Highlands Course at Hampton Cove, round two was paused due to darkness prior to completion. The 12 teams competing for the tournament crown will wrap up round two on Tuesday morning starting at 8:00 a.m. CT. The third and final round will kick off immediately following round two.
The Golden Eagles tallied a round of 310 to rank sixth overall following the first round of scoring. North Alabama paced the field with a 295, led by the tournament's individual lead following the first round, Hannah Dees, who fired a 2-under 70.
Not far off the overall lead, sophomore Chloe Griffith ripped off her own stellar opening round, carding a 1-over 73 to tie for fourth among the 63 golfers in the field. The youngster tallied five birdies on the day as well.
Rookie Kailey Lane dropped in two birdies of her own in round one, finishing with a 76 to tie for 18th. Two shots back of her teammate was junior Kaydi Rhodes tying for 26th with a 78 and a birdie.
Fellow junior Sydney Branson wrapped up her first round of the event with an 83, tacking on a birdie along the way. Senior Reagan Stuke rounded out the Golden Eagle lineup with a score of 84, piling up a pair of birdies of her own.
