Tech closes out regular season with final round of Boilermaker Spring Classic
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team wrapped up play at the Boilermaker Spring Classic on Monday, finishing off the third and final round of action on the Ackerman-Allen Course at Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex in West Lafayette, Ind.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team wrapped up play at the Boilermaker Spring Classic on Monday, finishing off the third and final round of action on the Ackerman-Allen Course at Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex in West Lafayette, Ind.
The Golden Eagles concluded their final tune-up before the Ohio Valley Conference Championships in a tie for 14th with Toledo, posting a three-day total of 934 with a final round of 312. Illinois earned the tournament title, holding off a surge by Denver for a one-stroke win with a total of 875 for the week. Illinois State's Elise Fennell claimed individual medalist honors, topping the 96-golfer field with a 7-under 209 to win by one shot.
At the top of the rankings among the Tech lineup was sophomore Chloe Griffith, who carded a 75 with two birdies and 12 pars. The youngster tied for 40th overall with a total of 228. Next in line for the purple and gold, Kaydi Rhodes tied for 65th after producing a third-round 79. The junior ended the event with a composite 234 with a birdie and 10 pars in the final round.
Registering a 78 with a team-high three birdies on the day was Sydney Branson. The junior tied for 81st overall, totaling 241 for the week. One shot back of her teammate, senior Reagan Stuke tallied an 80 with a team-high three birdies as well to finish at 242 overall.
Rounding out the Tech lineup just one stroke behind Stuke, freshman Kailey Lane totaled 243 while turning in an 83 with one birdie. Competing as an individual, Cookeville native Lexus Julian produced an 85 to complete her week of action with a total score of 246.
The Golden Eagles will now focus on the OVC Championships next week, with a trip to Muscle Shoals, Ala. on the docket for Sunday, Apr. 13 through Tuesday, Apr. 15. Play will take place on the Fighting Joe Course at The Shoals, a Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail course.
