Tech women's golf concludes first two rounds of Rocket Classic
PORT CLINTON, Ohio – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team completed the first two rounds of play at the Rocket Classic on Monday, competing in a field of 10 teams at the Catawba Island Club in Port Clinton, Ohio.

PORT CLINTON, Ohio – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team completed the first two rounds of play at the Rocket Classic on Monday, competing in a field of 10 teams at the Catawba Island Club in Port Clinton, Ohio.
The Golden Eagles tallied scores of 319 and 321 on the opening day of action, totaling 640 overall to rank eighth. Host Toledo found the top of the leaderboard, posting a 601 to lead by four shots. Central Michigan's Ella Zanatta paced all individuals in the field of 59 with a two-round total of 147.
Competing as an individual, Kailey Lane delivered the top showing for the purple and gold on day one, tying for 14th overall with a two-round total of 152. The rookie opened the event with a 75 and two birdies before turning in a 77 and four more birdies in round two.
Leading the Tech lineup by tying for 19th with a 154 was Kaydi Rhodes. Carding scores of 76 and 78, the junior totaled five birdies across the first two rounds. Tied for 38th following a composite 162, Chloe Griffith kicked off her tournament with an 82 in round one. The sophomore concluded the day with a round-two total of 80, sporting a pair of birdies.
It was a trio of Golden Eagles tying for 40th overall, with Reagan Stuke, Sydney Branson, and Lexus Julian each producing scores of 163 for the day. The senior of the group, Stuke locked in a birdie as part of a first-round 80 and followed it up with an 83 and two more birdies. Branson, a junior, ended the day with scores of 82 and 81, totaling one birdie in the first round. It was an 81 and an 82, in that order, for the sophomore Julian, who featured a birdie in each round.
The third and final round of the Rocket Classic is slated to start at 7:30 a.m. CT at the Catawba Island Club.
