Tech wraps up fall campaign with sixth-place showing at Mercer Invitational
FORSYTH, Ga. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team completed its final event of the fall season Tuesday afternoon, finishing off the third and final round of the Mercer Invitational at River Forest Golf Club in Forsyth, Ga.

FORSYTH, Ga. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team completed its final event of the fall season Tuesday afternoon, finishing off the third and final round of the Mercer Invitational at River Forest Golf Club in Forsyth, Ga.
The purple and gold placed sixth among the 12-team field, jumping up a spot from Monday after turning in a round of 305 to end the event with a 916. Jacksonville claimed the team title, edging host Mercer by a pair of shots with an 867. Georgia State's TK Kongthong and Samford's Gabi Nicastro tied for individual medalist honors, sporting scores of 211.
Chloe Griffith wrapped up her second fall campaign as a Golden Eagle tied for 15th among the 70 golfers in competition, delivering a composite score of 222. The sophomore ended the day with a 3-over 75, backed by a trio of birdies.
Freshman Kailey Lane completed play with her best round of the week, producing a 2-over 74 with three birdies. The rookie tied for 22nd overall with a 226. Sophomore Lexus Julian followed five shots back of her teammate, tying for 33rd with a third-round score of 76 with two birdies and a total of 231.
Junior Sydney Branson rounded out the scoring portion of the lineup for the purple and gold, carding an 80 with three birdies. The veteran tied for 41st behind a score of 237.
Just one shot back of her teammate, sophomore Lydia Baker finished off the event with a 238 after closing the day with a birdie and an 81 while competing as an individual. Also taking part individually, senior Reagan Stuke racked up a pair of birdies for a 79 and a final score of 243.
Tech will return to the links for the spring season in March, heading to Huntsville, Ala. for the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate. Spanning Monday, Mar. 3 through Tuesday, Mar. 4, the Golden Eagles will compete on the Highlands Course at Hampton Cove.
