Tech Volleyball welcomes in Southeast Missouri for OVC series
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – It’s been a little bit since the Tennessee Tech volleyball team has been back in the friendly confines of the Hooper Eblen Center, but the Golden Eagles will be challenged in their trip home by defending Ohio Valley Conference regular-season champ Southeast Missouri. Tech will face the Redhawks Thursday at 6 p.m. and Friday at 4 p.m. Dylan Vazzano will provide the call on ESPN+ (subscription required). All volleyball matches at the Eblen Center are free admission.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – It's been a little bit since the Tennessee Tech volleyball team has been back in the friendly confines of the Hooper Eblen Center, but the Golden Eagles will be challenged in their trip home by defending Ohio Valley Conference regular-season champ Southeast Missouri.
Tech will face the Redhawks Thursday at 6 p.m. and Friday at 4 p.m. Dylan Vazzano will provide the call on ESPN+ (subscription required). All volleyball matches at the Eblen Center are free admission.
SEMO enters the two-match series with an 8-6 overall record and a 1-1 mark in the Ohio Valley following a mid-week sweep over UT Martin and a tough 3-2 defeat at Little Rock.
Comparing common non-conference opponents, the Redhawks fell 3-1 to North Alabama, beat Western Michigan 3-2 and swept Murray State 3-0. Tech also swept the Racers, fell 3-1 to the Lions and dropped a 3-0 decision to the Broncos.
Offensively, the Redhawks are led by Lucy Arndt, who has 197 kills – 3.58 per set – with a .201 hitting percentage. A well-balanced player, Arndt also has 130 digs and 20 total blocks – six solo and 14 assisted. She is the reigning OVC Offensive Player of the Week after recording 36 kills (4.5 per set) and a .330 hitting percentage against the Skyhawks and the Trojans.
Marin Johnson is also an offensive threat with 122 kills, averaging 2.49 per set, with a .224 attack mark.
Defensively, Kara Oxenknect has a team-best 30 blocks – five solo and 25 assisted – while Alaina Lester has 29 – two solo and 27 assisted. Nina Schuberth has a team-best 211 digs, while Megan Holder also has 127.
Holder also leads the team in assists with 285 (5.18 per set), while Alandry Below has 230 (4.51 per set).
The Golden Eagles stand at 5-9 on the year with a 2-0 record in the conference after a 3-2 victory and a 3-0 sweep over Western Illinois. Bella Powell leads the team with 169 kills – 3.31 per set – with a team-best 18 service aces and 21 blocks. Audrey Berkebile also has 81 kills, while Tuva Falk has 71 and Ave Schubert 63.
Jordan Karlen, who recorded her 1,000th dig last week against the Leathernecks and is closing in on 4,000 career assists with 3,920 overall, has 450 assists on the season – averaging 8.82 per set. Karlen also has 48 kills, 13 service aces, 116 digs and 17 total blocks.
MK Roberts leads the team with 153 digs, while freshmen Jordyn Milhouse has 29 total blocks – four solo and 25 assisted – and Falk has 28 total blocks – two solo and 26 assisted.
Following Thursday and Friday's contests, the Golden Eagles will continue their homestand next week as they host Tennessee State on Oct. 10-11.
