Golden Eagle Volleyball adds four in signing class
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Signing Day has arrived and the Tennessee Tech Volleyball team has inked a terrific quartet that promises to give the Golden Eagles some firepower for the seasons to come. Joining the Tech roster are Amani Agoot (West Bloomfield [Mich.] HS), Kamya Mahorn (Woodford County [Ky.] HS), Morgan Petelin (University [Ill.] HS), Bella Potempa (Timothy Christian [Ill.] HS)

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Signing Day has arrived and the Tennessee Tech Volleyball team has inked a terrific quartet that promises to give the Golden Eagles some firepower for the seasons to come.
Joining the Tech roster are Amani Agoot (West Bloomfield [Mich.] HS), Kamya Mahorn (Woodford County [Ky.] HS), Morgan Petelin (University [Ill.] HS), Bella Potempa (Timothy Christian [Ill.] HS)
Amani Agoot | MB | Southfield, Mich. | West Bloomfield HS
A three-year letterwinner and two-year varsity captain, Agoot helped lead her team to the OAA White League championship in 2023, then was named OAA Red All-League in the 2024 season.
She finished her junior campaign with 87 kills and a .316 hitting percentage, while recording 33 blocks and 12 digs.
Kamya Mahorn | OH/DS | Versaille, Ky. | Woodford Co. HS
A four-year standout at WCHS, Mahorn is in the team's 1,000-kill club and just completed a tremendous season where she recorded 468 kills, 75 blocks, 294 digs and 54 service aces.
An all-state selection, Mahorn has 1,540 career kills, 150 blocks, 1,023 digs and 188 aces.
She helped her team earn two district titles, while earning four district all-tournament and three all-region honors.
She follows an athletic tradition as her mother, Traci, played softball at Georgetown College and her father, Andre, played basketball at Utah State and Georgetown College.
Morgan Petelin | S/RS | Bloomington, Ill. | University HS
A four-year standout, Petelin has put together incredible numbers as a setter, collecting 1,634 assists, 775 digs and 89 blocks, while also showing solid offensive prowess with 215 kills and 110 service aces.
This past season, Petelin put together 538 assists, 271 digs, 112 kills, 39 aces and 35 blocks, earning an honorable mention on the Illinois Volleyball Coaches Association's All-State roster.
She helped her team to four Central State Eight conference titles, four regional crowns, three intercity championships and two sectional titles. Petelin and her squad are still in contention for their quest for a state title this season.
A two-sport athlete as she also competes in basketball, Petelin follows her parents' footsteps as her mother, Cheryl, played volleyball, softball and basketball at Illinois Valley CC, and her father, Joe, played basketball at Cardinal Stritch University and IVCC.
Bella Potempa | OH | Downers Grove, Ill. | Timothy Christian HS
A team captain at TCHS, Potempa is a versatile player on the court, creating offensive opportunities and defensive stops. In her career, Potempa has recorded 908 kills, 215 service aces, 76 blocks, 726 digs and 1,301 service receptions.
This past season, she recorded 359 kills, 39 aces, 30 blocks, 174 digs and 280 receptions. She helped lead the team to three conference titles from 2023 to 2025, winning sectionals in 2024 and a third-place state finish in 2024.
Her resume is quite impressive, earning a Player of the Year nod, an all-conference selection and a first-team IVCA All-State pick this season alone. Potempa and the TCHS team are still in action, working toward a state title.
Potempa's father, Brian, played basketball, volleyball and baseball at Morraine Valley CC and Millikin University, while her aunt, Bonnie Kraemer, was a four-year softball player at Northwestern and Eastern Illinois. Potempa also competed as a sprinter/high jumper in track and was a pitcher, centerfielder and shortstop in softball.
She will be a Spring 2026 enrollee.
