Golden Eagles fall, 3-0 in season opener in Cincinnati
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Tennessee Tech volleyball team looked
like they would take set one against Marshall in its season opener,
but the Thundering Herd took it in extra points and claimed sets
two and three to seize the match 3-0. Senior Caitlin Bullock led
the attack for Tech with 13 kills with a .545 attack
percentage.
Tech (0-1) returns to the court tomorrow when they take on
Cincinnati and Wright State in the final games of the Bearcat
Invitational.
"We have some things to work on," said head coach John Blair. "I
think we will play better tomorrow."
New rules this season in volleyball bring the scoring in sets to 25
from 30. Along with the scoring change, games are now to be called
sets. This is to align terminology and scoring with professional
and Olympic volleyball.
Marshall held Tech to .248 attack percentage depsite a .306 in set
three.
