Costumes, contests featured Friday as Tech hosts Volleyween in Eblen Center
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Fans are invited to come in costume and
participate in the contests that are scheduled when Tennessee Tech
hosts "Volleyween" Friday night in Eblen Center as the Golden Eagle
volleyball team hosts a first-place showdown with Morehead
State.
The match begins at 7 p.m. and admission is free.
Tech, which is tied for first in the league with a 10-2 conference
record, hosts a crucial OVC weekend pair of matches. After facing
Morehead State Friday night, the Golden Eagles play their final
regular season home contest Saturday at 2 p.m. against Eastern
Kentucky. That match is Senior Day, and Tech will recognize seniors
Kappy Lang, Caitlin Bullock and Jessica Asplund.
Volleyween will feature a costume contest, c0-hosted by Tech and
the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, plus other events such as
Halloween trivia, a Mummy wrapping contest, and a dance contest to
the tune of Michael Jackson's "Thriller."
The match, as well as all of the festivities, will also be streamed
live on the Internet on OVCsports.TV.
At the end of Friday's match, the Golden Eagle players will go into
the stands to pass out treats.
