A look at Tennessee Tech
The Golden Eagles (4-6-7, 4-0-3 OVC) flock to Cape Girardeau on a seven-match unbeaten streak, the longest since a program-record tying nine in a row in 2023. The purple and gold made it seven straight after topping Southern Indiana 2-0 in Tech's last contest Thursday evening in Cookeville.
The crucial conference nod pushed the Golden Eagles into a tie for second place with Little Rock behind 15 OVC points. Eastern Illinois is sitting in first with 16 points. Tech hosts EIU in the regular-season finale on Oct. 26.
Katie Toney and Lucia Cuadra each found the back of the net in Thursday's victory over USI. Toney's first-half score marked the third-consecutive contest in which the senior forward has found the back of the net. The goal also put Toney in rarified air in becoming only the third Golden Eagle with 20 career scores. Angela Freund (1998-01) has 24 career goals and TTU Hall of Famer Jill Burns is the program record holder with 40 scores.
Cuadra's second-half goal tied her for the team lead with Natalie Howard thanks to five scores. Cuadra also assisted on Toney's goal to give the Barcelona, Spain native a club-best 14 points to rank fourth in the OVC. Cuadra's four assists also tie her for second in the league, while Melina Hamm is the conference leader in assists behind five helpers. Hamm assisted on Toney's first-half goal on Thursday.
Thursday's shutout marked the third clean sheet of the year and 20th in the career of senior keeper Maggie Conrad. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa product became only the second Tech keeper with 20 career clean sheets, joining Kari Naerdemann who collected 34 shutouts throughout her TTU tenure.
The Golden Eagles head into Sunday's matchup at SEMO having lost only three of the last 39 OVC regular-season matches, dating back to October 2021. Tech has a 25-3-11 record over that span.

Southeast Missouri (2-13-1, 2-4-1 OVC) currently holds the final OVC Tournament spot, sitting in eighth place in the league with seven conference points.
