BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech Athletics was once again represented on the coveted list of 2025-26 OVC Scholar-Athlete Award winners as Maggie Conrad of Golden Eagle soccer was one of only six student-athletes across the conference to take home the prestigious accolade.
The highest individual honor earned by an OVC student-athlete, the award is given annually to three men and three women student-athletes for their accomplishments both in the classroom and athletic arena, and because of their leadership qualities. Conrad's recognition marks the 42nd Golden Eagle student-athlete to take home the award as well as the 12th Golden Eagle to capture the impressive accolade over the last 10 years.
Conrad also makes it a third-straight year in which a Tech soccer student-athlete made the distinguished list after Katie Toney earned the honor last year and Yao Giada Zhou in 2023-24.
Conrad is in her fourth year as Tech's starting goalkeeper and was recently was recognized on the All-OVC second team for the second-consecutive season. The senior from Cedar Rapids, Iowa has been named the OVC Goalkeeper of the Week five times throughout her career, which includes the final week of the 2025 regular season.
Conrad's 22 career shutouts are the second-most in the program history, while her 29 career victories are also second-most in school history. Twice she has been voted by her teammates as the winner of the "Golden Eagle Award" given for serving as the "heart of the team."
Off the pitch, she has a 4.0 grade point average in EXPW (exercise science). Conrad has earned multiple OVC Academic Medal of Honor awards to go along with being named to the Tennessee Tech Dean's List and the TTU Athletic Director's Honor Roll on multiple occasions. The senior keeper is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), the Exercise Science Majors Club, serves as an Athletics Tutor and is a lab assistant in Human Anatomy and Physiology. She has also volunteered with the Kiwanis Miracle League Buddy program and as a remote area medical clinic volunteer among other activities.
The six winners were selected from a group of finalists by a vote of OVC Faculty Athletics Representatives. Honorees must have performed athletically with distinction, earned at least a 3.5 grade-point average and conducted themselves in a manner which has brought credit to the student-athlete, his or her institution, intercollegiate athletics and the OVC.
The other winners of the Scholar-Athlete award are Hayden Bell of Morehead State (rifle), Sullivan Gleason of Southeast Missouri (track & field), M.E. Hargan of Morehead State (volleyball & beach volleyball), Brooklyn Marcee of Little Rock (track & field) and Josh Newell of Lindenwood (baseball).
