Update: Four Tech alumni doing well in the minors
Four former Tennessee Tech baseball players continue to soar through all levels of minor league play this summer.

continue to soar through all levels of minor league play this
summer.
Bubbie Buzachero is throwing the ball for the Triple-A Buffalo
Bisons (Cleveland Indians) in the International League. Jim Ed
Warden pitches for the Cleveland Indians' Double-A affiliate, the
Akron Aeros, over in the Eastern League, while Casey Benjamin is
hitting in the Double-A Texas League for the Frisco Rough Riders
(Texas Rangers). Pitcher Zac Cole is on the pitching staff for the
Gulf Coast Orioles in the Rookie League.
Buzachero has a 3-6 record with the Bisons since being brought up
from the Aeros, with a 4.14 ERA over 59.2 innings of work. He has
appeared in 36 games, 34 in relief with two starts, and has helped
the Bisons to third place in the International League North. The
Bisons are 6 1/2 games out of the lead.
Buzachero's former Aero teammate, Warden has posted a 4-2 record
with a very respectable 1.47 ERA over 43 innings pitched. The Aeros
still maintain a one-game lead in the EAS Southern Division.
With 411 at bats posted for the Rough Riders, Benjamin is hitting
.251 with 36 extra-base hits and 46 RBIs. Following a 7-3 win
against the Tulsa Drillers late klast week, the Frisco Rough Riders
have taken sole possession of first place in the Texas League
South.
Cole has put in some time pitching for the Gulf Coast Orioles. He
has pitched 10.2 innings over eight relief appearances and has a
6.75 ERA. The Gulf Coast Orioles are currently in second place in
the Gulf Coast League, just 1 1/2 games behind the Gulf Coast
Twins.
