Tech's Softball, Baseball teams hosting Alumni Weekend May 4-5
Tennessee Tech's baseball and softball teams will each host an Alumni Reunion weekend on Friday, May 4 and Saturday, May 5.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee Tech's baseball and softball teams
will each host an Alumni Reunion weekend on Friday, May 4 and
Saturday, May 5.
The weekend begins with an Alumni Golf Outing on Friday, then both
teams are in action on campus on Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Eagle baseball team hosts a doubleheader against Ohio
Valley Conference foe Jacksonville State, while the TTU softball
team hosts a conference doubleheader with Samford.
While team and players from every season are invited, the baseball
program will host a special 10-year anniversary recognition of the
1997 team that shared the OVC regular season title and won the
Tournament championship to advance to the NCAA Tournament. All
former players will be recognized on the field between games of the
doubleheader.
Former baseball coach David Mays will host a pregame tailgate event
behind the grandstands in Bush Stadium at the Averitt Express
Baseball Complex.
The softball team will hold a special ceremony between games of its
doubleheader, recognizing all former players on hand. The feature
of the ceremony will be the addition of Angel Berry and Buffy
Bright to the team's "Wall of Honor" in center field.
Following the game, the team will host a tailgate gathering at the
softball stadium.
In addition to the festivities on Saturday, there will be an Alumni
Golf Outing on Friday, May 4, at Cookeville Golf Club. The event
tees off at 8:30 a.m., and the cost is $20 per player.
