Vanderbilt Invitational next test for Golden Eagle track squad
The Tennessee Tech track & field team heads to Nashville Friday and Saturday for the Vanderbilt Invitational, a meet which always provides coach Tony Cox's team with some of its fiercest competition of the year.

heads to Nashville Friday and Saturday for the Vanderbilt
Invitational, a meet which always provides coach Tony Cox's team
with some of its fiercest competition of the year.
Friday's events will test 21 Golden Eagles, beginning at 3 p.m.
with the long jump (Kelli Keck, Chelsea Mills), jevelin (Haley
Wennerstrom, Lacy Yslas) and shot put (Madison Borden, Margarett
Holder).
Running events on Friday begin at 5 p.m. with the 200m (Brittany
Cotto, Kelli Keck, Brooklyn Kimball, Chelsea Mills). The 1,500m
(Kendale Caldwell, Landry Loving) is scheduled for 6:25 p.m., and
the night will wrap up with the men's and women's 5,000-meter
races. In the men's race, Matt Bishop and Sterling Smith will join
the field. Tech has seven runners in the field for the women's 5K
(Rebecca Cline, Yeshi Dohrmann, Kathryn Forbes, Amelia McCoy, Beth
Miller, MEghan O'Donoghue, Peri Winborne).
On Saturday, action will commence at 10 a.m. with the hammer
(Margarett Holder), while the pole vault (Katie Lowery) is set for
12 p.m. The triple jump (Kelli Keck, Chelsea Mills) and the high
jump (Erin Keyes) are also slated for 12 p.m. Also running at noon
is the 4x100 relay (Justine Phillips Tiara Hymon, Keli Keck,
Chelsea Mills).
The afternoon schedule includes the discus (Madison Borden, Lacy
Yslas) at 1 p.m., 800m at 12:25 (Kendale Caldwell, Calis Connell,
Landry Loving), 400m at 1:30 p.m. (Brittany Cotto, Tiara Hymon,
Brooklyn Kimball). The 100m (Justine Phillips) is at 2:10 p.m.,
followed by the 400m hurdles (Brittany Cotto, Tiara Hymon) at 2:45
p.m.
The day will close with the 4x400 relay, where Tech's foursome of
Dalis Connell, Tiara Hymon, Katie Lowery and Brooklyn Kimball will
challenge the field.
