Lowery ties school record, four personal best marks written at SIU meet
Katie Lowery tied her own school record in the pole vault and four other personal-best marks were written Saturday when the Tennessee Tech women's track & field team competed at the SIU Invitational Indoor Meet.
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Katie Lowery tied her own school record in the
pole vault and four additional personal best mark were written
Saturday when the Tennessee Tech women's track & field team
competed at the SIU Indoor Invitational, the first action of the
indoor season for coach Tony Cox's team. No team scores were
tallied.
Lowery cleared the bar at 10'0" to tie the school mark that she
established two years ago. The other personal-best records were
earned by sophomore Kendale Caldwell, junior Erin Keyes, and
seniors Madison Borden and Lacy Yslas.
Caldwell clocked a PR of 2:40.48 in the 800-meter run. Keyes posted
a new PR in the high jump, clearing the bar at a quarter-inch
better than five feet. Borden and Yslas had career marks in the
shot put. Borden's toss of 39' 7" was the best of her career,
either inside or outside, while Yslas notched an indoor best of 38'
6.25"
The next meet for the Golden Eagles is in a little more than a
month, when Tech competes Jan. 18 at the East Tennessee
Invitational.
