Balanced play has Tech women second at APSU Tournament
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- Placing four players among the top 12, the
Tennessee Tech women's golf team is in second place after the first
round of the Austin Peay F&M Bank Intercollegiate Tournament,
just two strokes behind the leader heading into Tuesday's final
round.
The tournament features 17 teams, including six Ohio Valley
Conference squads, and 91 individual golfers.
Murray State holds the team lead at 310, while Tech is right behind
after shooting a 312 Monday. Arkansas State (314), Indiana State
(316) and Belmont (320) round out the top five. In addition to
Murray State and Tech, OVC teams in the field include Morehead
State (325/7th), Austin Peay (330/10th), Eastern Illinois 334/12th)
and Tennessee State (441/17th).
Megan Bradford is Tech's leader, shooting a 76 to place her in a
tie for seventh. Carley Ryhne is tied for 10th at 78, while Diana
Carson (79)_ and Ashley Spangler (79) are tied for 12th. Madison
Denman (83) rounds out Tech's lineup.
