No. 14 Tech downs No. 13 Akron; picks up two wins

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - For the fifth straight year, the Tennessee Tech rifle team has been ranked in the top 15 in the NRA/Coach's Preseason Poll. The Golden Eagles lived up to the place and downed No. 13 Akron to open a three-weekend home stance.

Tech (2-1, 0-1 OVC) picked up the wins over both teams that Akron brought.

Tech took a three-point lead after both smallbore relays and expanded it to a 20-point team aggregate win over the closest Akron team. Sophomore Patrick Stidham helped Tech get the win with a match and career high 583 in the Air Rifle.
