Track & field squad wraps up regular season meets with six career-bests
CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Tennessee Tech track and field team wrapped up competition at the SIU Invitation at Southern Illinois University on Saturday as six different athlete registered new career-best marks.
CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Tennessee Tech track and field team wrapped up competition at the SIU Invitation at Southern Illinois University on Saturday as six different athlete registered new career-best marks in their final regular seaon meet.
When it came to throwing, Lacy Yslas in her first indoor season of competing in the weight throw she has bested herself every meet, including this one where she hit a mark of 41-07.25. Freshman Jaelyn Todd recorded a person best in the shot put with a heave of 24-11.00.
Two jumpers recorded career-marks as well. Freshman Rebeca Duarte leaped a mark of 16-02.5 in the long jump, while sophomore Atlanta Westbrook jumped a career-best 36-00.25.
Wrapping up the PR's were two runners, Sarah Wilson and Rebecca Cline. Wilson registered a personal-best time of 2:46.47 in the 800m race. Cline strided to a PR time of 10:35.55 in the 3000m race.
The Golden Eagles will return to the track on Feb. 28 to compete in the Ohio Valley Conference indoor championship meet on the campus of Tennessee State.
