Dalis Connell

Bio

Dalis wraps up her career this spring as a Golden Eagle runner, and will compete in middle distance events and relays...a dedicated runner who has worked hard in the off-season, she is looking to post her best times in 2014...a versatile athlete who competed in four sports during her prep career, including being the lone female member of the track team at her high school.

AT TECH (In 2013-14): Dalis trained with the team throughout the fall season, but did not compete in any cross country meets in 2013.

(In 2012-13): A member of the cross country team in the fall, Dalis used the season for training and did not compete in any meets...got busy during the track season, competing in three individual events plus the two relays during indoor season, posting a pair of career-best times...recorded her fastest time in th 600m at Southern Illinois with a 1:45.94 showing...her best 800m time of 2:32.62 came at the OVC Championships...outdoors she focused on the 800m and posted her career-best of 2:28.98 at Vanderbilt...also ran on three different relay teams during the outdoor season.

(In 2011-12): Dalis competed in the 400m and the 800m during the indoor and outdoor track seasons... set three season-best records during the indoor season, one in which she participated in the 4x400 Relay at the Southern Illinois Invitational with a finishing time of 4:09.95, another in the 400m with a time of 1:03.09, a career best, at the OVC Championships. The final came in the distance medley relay with a finishing time of 12:51.13, also at the OVC Championships... during the outdoor season, she also earned two season-best records, one in the 400m at the Vanderbilt Invitational with a time of 1:01.40 and the other in the 800m at the Vanderbilt Invitational with a time of 2:29.76... she was also part of the 4x100 relay team that finished with a season-best time of 3:56.84 at the Vanderbilt Invitational, which also made Tech history... earned her career best in the 400m during the indoor season with a time of 2:39.13... landed her career best in the 400m and 800m with times of 1:01.92 and 2:46.51.

(In 2010-11): Dalis competed in the 200m and 400m during indoor and outdoor track seasons...posted a season-best time of 27.27 in the 200 at Tennessee State...ran a season-best 1:01.98 in the 400 at the OVC Outdoor Championships.

HIGH SCHOOL: After moving from California to the Chattanooga area, Dalis attended Boyd Buchanan High School as a junior and senior and was the lone member of the girls track and field team for two seasons...also lettered two years in cross country, volleyball and basketball...was named Best Defensive Player on the basketball squad and the team's MVP...qualified for TSSAA sub-state track meet...named Best of Preps...posted best times of 2.97 in the 100 meter dash and 27.04 in the 200 meter...spent her first two high school years at Santa Clara (Calif.) High School...member of the track and field team as a sophomore.

PERSONAL: Dalis Paige Connell is the daughter of Brian and Kelley Connell...born May 16, 1992...majoring in physical therapy.
