Personal-bests highlight Golden Eagles performance at TSU Invitational
NASHVILLE - The Tennessee Tech track & field squad put together a solid team performance on Saturday as they competed in the Tennessee State Invitational.

On the track where the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championships meet will take place in three weeks, the Golden Eagles saw six different athletes record career-bests.
The throwing corps was on point this weekend as Makayla Kington, Jaelyn Todd, and Lacy Yslas all threw for career marks. Kington in her first meet as a Golden Eagle led the way in shot up with a heave of 30-10, while Todd also recorded a career-best with a throw of 24-06. Yslas competed for just the second time in the weight throw and set a PR of 41-04.5.
Atlanta Westbrook set two personal-records at TSU as she ran the 400m race in 1:01.92, and then followed it up with a PR mark in the triple jump with a leap of 35-05. Rebeca Duarte also hit two personal-bests as she ran the 55m-hurdles in a time of 10.36 and then jumped a mark of 16-02 in the long jump.
Wrapping up the PR's for the Golden Eagles was Yeshi Dohrmann in the 5000m race where she finished with a personal best time of 20:00.51.
The Golden Eagles will look to build off of this confidence as they will compete on Feb. 7 and 8 at the SIU Invitational in Carbondale, Ill. on the campus of Southern Illinois University. This will be the last meet before the Golden Eagles return to TSU for the OVC Indoor Championships.
