Lindenwood sweeps series with walk-off in seventh
ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Tennessee Tech lead the entire game, but Lindenwood rallied in the bottom of the seventh to walk-off the game with a 4-3 victory on Sunday to sweep the series. The Golden Eagles (16-32, 8-16 Ohio Valley Conference) return to action on Wednesday as Tech travels to Chattanooga for a single game for a 4 p.m. Central contest. The Golden Eagles will then close out the regular-season slate Saturday and Sunday at home against Morehead State.

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Tennessee Tech lead the entire game, but Lindenwood rallied in the bottom of the seventh to walk-off the game with a 4-3 victory on Sunday to sweep the series.
The Golden Eagles (16-32, 8-16 Ohio Valley Conference) return to action on Wednesday as Tech travels to Chattanooga for a single game for a 4 p.m. Central contest. The Golden Eagles will then close out the regular-season slate Saturday and Sunday at home against Morehead State.
With Morehead State (6-17) sweeping Western Illinois (7-17), Tech falls into eighth place in the league standings as UT Martin (8-15) moved into seventh by winning percentage with one week remaining in the conference schedule.
Tech scored three runs early – one in the second, then two in the third – to hold the lead for the majority of the contest. The host Lions persevered, however, scoring four runs on five hits in the bottom of the seventh to end the game with two on and two down.
Emily York took the loss, going 6 2/3 innings and allowing just two hits until the seventh inning. She ended the day allowing four runs on seven hits with three walks and two strikeouts. Payton Wagner came on in relief and faced the final two batters of the game, yielding two hits.
Avery Wapp, who recorded two saves in the previous two games, had the start, going three innings as she allowed three runs on three hits, walking four and striking out three. After 2 1/3 innings from Ryleigh Owens, Samantha Roulanaitis was the pitcher of record when the Lions took the lead, earning the victory over the final inning and two-thirds, allowing one hit and striking out one.
Sydney Kirby put Tech on the board first with a solo home run to right field to lead off the top of the second. Makayli Harris then gave the Golden Eagles a 3-0 lead in the third with a double to right center to bring Abby Shoulders and Olivia Evans home. Three of Tech's five hits came in the second and third innings.
Tech had chances, leaving eight runners stranded.
In the seventh, Hanna Johanning hit a one-out home run to center field, then Tori Hatton drove in Anna Sanders with a single through the right side, Jolie McMinn singled in Irelynn West with a single to center field, then Mya Bethany drove in the final run with a single up the middle as Izzy Wilcox was waved home and came in for the winning run.
