2024 (Junior): Played and started all 47 of the team's games in the 2024 campaign ... batted .268 with 40 hits -- including seven doubles and a home run -- while driving in 22 and coming home to score 33 times ... drew 12 walks and hit by four pitches compared to eight strikeouts ... was 23-for-26 on stolen bases ... had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in the outfield with 65 putouts and two assists ... had two doubles vs. Norfolk State (2/10/24) ... had career-highs with six total bases and four RBI vs. Presbyterian (2/10/24), including the lone home run of her Tech career thus far ... had three runs scored twice -- both on the same day -- against Presbyterian and Norfolk State (2/10/24).

2023 (Sophomore): Shoulders had a great season with the Golden Eagles in 2023 as she was second on the roster in batting average with a .276 clip, while collecting 40 hits and 13 RBI ... she led the team in runs scored with 25 and had the most stolen bases as she went 9-for-13 on the basepath ... drove in three runs as she went 3-for-4 vs. College of Charleston on Feb. 19 ... had seven multi-hit games in the campaign ... had a .957 fielding percentage.

2022 (Freshman, Middle Tennessee): She appeared in 36 games last season for the Blue Raiders, starting 27. Shoulders drove in seven RBI and scored 12 runs as she also drew 10 walks. She also had success on the base paths, stealing five of seven attempts.

HIGH SCHOOL: A highly-decorated student-athlete from nearby Lafayette, Shoulders lettered in three sports at Macon County High School, playing four years of softball as a shortstop for coach John Conditt, four years of basketball for hall-of-fame coach Larry White as a guard and a season as a forward in soccer for coach Liz Spragens ... At MCHS, she earned Class AA Miss Softball honors by the Tennessee Softball Coaches Association and was on its All-State squad. She won District 8-AA Freshman MVP, Defensive MVP and Offensive MVP during her career ... Her senior numbers at MCHS were phenomenal as she posted a .558 batting average with 47 RBI, 10 home runs and 65 runs scored. ... During her senior season on the hardwood, she helped lead Macon County to the TSSAA Class AA girls basketball championship in 2021 after a runner-up finish in 2018 and state Final Four appearances in 2019 and 2020. She scored over 1,200 career points and was a four-time selection to both the District 8-AA team and the Region 4-AA team ... Shoulders has also been an exceptional student, earning MCHS' co-valedictorian honors in 2021 ... The collegiate experience also runs in her family. Her sister, Allyson, played four seasons of softball at Cumberland, while her father, Chad, played baseball for two years at Aquinas Junior College.

Moving into double-elimination play, the Golden Eagles had a tough outing in the second game as the defending OVC champs topped Tech (20-34) 6-0.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Senior Day turned out to be a great day for Tennessee Tech’s softball seniors as the Golden Eagles completed the sweep over Morehead State, locked up the No. 7-seed in next week’s Ohio Valley Conference Softball Championship and put together some great performances. The top of which was Payton Wagner throwing the program’s 20th no-hitter in its history and the first since Alyssa Arden threw one in 2019 to top Jacksonville State. Tech won game one 8-0 in five innings, then topped the visiting Eagles 3-1 in the second game.

With the anticipated weather Saturday, the schedule has shifted to a single game on Saturday, starting at 12 p.m. (weather permitting) and a doubleheader Sunday starting at noon. As of Friday morning, the weather forecast fluctuates between a 73 to 99 percent chance of precipitation between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday, so there is a potential for delays. COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech’s offense continued to shine on Sunday as the Golden Eagles completed the three-game sweep over Western Illinois with a 12-3 run-rule victory over the Leathernecks at Tech Softball Field. The win gives Tech (10-19, 4-5 Ohio Valley Conference) its first three-game league sweep for since April 24, 2022, when the Golden Eagles took all three games against Tennessee State.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The offense came through in a big way for the Tennessee Tech softball team as the Golden Eagles claimed a pair of victories over Western Illinois on Saturday, rallying to tie the day’s first game in the bottom of the seventh, then won in the ninth 5-4. Tech then run-ruled the visitors in game two 14-6. The Golden Eagles (9-19, 3-5 Ohio Valley Conference) will close out the series against the Leathernecks on Sunday. First pitch has been moved up to 11 a.m. with rain in the forecast. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ (subscription required) with Dylan Vazzano on the call. Tech collected 11 hits in game one and 14 in game two, hitting .439 on the day with Abbee Klinefelter driving in four runs on the day on a 4-for-6 effort, Sydney Kirby collected four hits and Makayli Harris three. Ashley Capelouto also drove in three in the twinbill.

GREENSBORO, N.C. – After striking out 14 on Saturday, Lainey Fitzgerald had another awesome performance on Sunday as she showcased the offensive side of her game, coming through with a clutch home run to even the game against Iona. The Tennessee Tech softball team finished out the game with a 3-2 victory over the Gaels to wrap up its action in the UNCG Invitational. All three of Tech’s runs came in the fifth inning as the Golden Eagles (6-6) rallied from a 2-0 deficit with Sofia Carroll providing the game-winning hit with a double to left center to drive in pinch-runner Bailee Stack.

GREENSBORO, N.C. – True freshman pitcher Lainey Fitzgerald struck out 14 batters as the Tennessee Tech softball team gave George Washington its second loss of the season with a 4-1 victory in the Golden Eagles’ first action at the UNCG Invitational on Saturday. It is the most strikeouts in a single game for the Golden Eagles since Danielle Liberatore struck out the same number on April 1, 2017, against Austin Peay. Liberatore also holds the single-game record with 17 two years earlier against Morehead State. Fitzgerald improved to 2-0 on the season as she allowed just one run in the complete-game effort, yielding four hits and three walks. Of her 129 pitches in the game, 77 were for strikes.

COLUMBUS, Ga. – It was a tough day on the diamond for the Tennessee Tech softball team as the Golden Eagles took a tough-luck 2-1 loss to Army, then fell 12-1 in a five-inning run-ruled game to undefeated Syracuse. COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Tennessee Tech softball team opened up the day Friday at the Army Columbus Classic with a big victory over the tournament host, but ran into a speedbump with undefeated Syracuse in the nightcap to end the day with a split. Tech (4-3) defeated Army 9-0 in five innings in the opener, then fell to Syracuse 3-0 later in the day. The Golden Eagles will face the Black Nights again Saturday at 9 AM Central, then will take on the Orange once more at 2 PM.

COLUMBUS, Ga. – After a good 3-2 start to the campaign last week, the Tennessee Tech softball team is heading down to Georgia to compete in the Army Columbus Classic at the South Commons Complex. The Golden Eagles will take on the host Army twice, as well as two contests against Syracuse before wrapping up Sunday against Long Island. Tech will start its play Friday with an 11:30 a.m. CT contest against Army, then a 4 p.m. CT game against Syracuse. Saturday will see the same two pairings as the Golden Eagles will face the Black Knights at 9 a.m. CT and the Orange at 2 p.m. CT. Tech closes out the tournament with an 11:30 a.m. CT contest against LIU on Sunday.

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Evansville tied the game in the bottom of the seventh, but the Tennessee Tech softball team was able to take advantage of four Purple Ace errors – including three in the top of the eighth – to claim a 7-4 victory to wrap up play at the Furman Paladin Invitational on Sunday. The Golden Eagles head back to Cookeville with a 3-2 record before hitting the road again next weekend for the Army tournament in Columbus, Ga.
