Tech Hosts Southeast Missouri to Open Ohio Valley Conference Play

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech men's basketball opens OVC play against the Southeast Missouri Redhawks at Hooper Eblen Center on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. CT.
TTU is 39-24 all-time against SEMO dating back to 1992. The Golden Eagles have dropped three straight to the Redhawks. Tech is 26-6 at home against SEMO in the series. Tech has won two straight non-conference games, looking to capitalize on momentum entering OVC play. Watch live on ESPN+ and listen live on 106.1 The Eagle.

Most recently, the Golden Eagles won their second straight game behind a career-high 22 points from Brandon Muntu on 80 percent shooting (8-10 FG), including 6-of-8 from three-point range. He made six of the Golden Eagles' 10 three-pointers. It was his second time leading the team in scoring and his fifth double-digit game this season.
Overall, Tech finished with four players in double digits, including Muntu (22), Dani Pounds (15, 5-9 FG, 5-6 FT), C.J. McPherson (12 pts), and Ja'Quavian Florence (12 pts). JaJuan Nicholls and Mekhi Turner both added nine points in the win.
The bench chipped in with 42 of the 101 points by the Golden Eagles, helping secure the victory. Tech took advantage of an aggressive attacking style offense, scoring 31 points on the fast break, and utilized its size to its advantage with 46 points in the paint. TTU forced 18 turnovers and scored 15 points.
Pounds is top 17 in scoring within the OVC, averaging a team-best 12.3 points per game. He's also 18th in the conference in rebounding (5.1 rpg).
NOTES
- Cameron has scored 127 points this season, which leads the team, bringing his career total to 209 points. He is averaging a career-high 11.5 points per contest this season.
- Seven games in double-digit scoring out of 11 games played, with a season-high 20 pts at USC Upstate (11/19).
- Ferguson scored his first collegiate point during a six-point effort at Lipscomb (12/3/25). He matched that season-high against Bethel (12/13).
- Turner made his first game with points a memorable one, as he scored a career-high 20 pts against Va. Lynchburg (11/10).
- Turner recorded his second game in double-digits with a team-high 16 points at Georgia (11/29).
- Muntu scored a career-high 22 pts against Bethel (Tenn.), making a career-high six three-pointers.
- Pounds has either led or tied for the team-lead in rebounds in the last three games, grabbing 21 boards over that span.
- Second on the team with 5.1 rebounds per game.

SEMO (5-6, 0-0 OVC) has won three straight games entering the contest with victories over Saint Mary of the Woods (W, 88-57), at Chattanooga (W, 74-70), and Saint Xavier (W, 88-65) to move to 5-6 on the year.
Southeast Missouri has won four of its last six contests and is one of two teams in the Ohio Valley Conference entering the week on a winning streak of three or more games.
Following this year's 5-6 non-conference record, Brad Korn is now 33-44 all-time in non-league action.
Marqueas Bell pitched in a career-high 19 points to lead Southeast Missouri to its win over Saint Xavier (Dec. 14). Since David Idada and Marqueas Bell joined the starting lineup, Southeast Missouri has gone 3-0.
