LAST GAME
Most recently, the Golden Eagles fell 11-0 in eight innings to Notre Dame on Sunday, March 1 to finish the Holiday Inn Classic at Bush Stadium. Starter Logan Moller was off to a fantastic start, tossing 4.0 scoreless innings with five strikeouts while surrendering just one hit before being lifted from the game. The game remained 1-0 until the seventh inning when Notre Dame scored five runs on five hits and then added five more runs on four hits in the top of the 8th to put it away, 11-0.
Tech threatened in the third when Landon Smelser singled to center and moved to second on a wild pitch, but the Irish stranded him there. In the fourth, Jorsixt Jimenez lined a single to right-center before Connor Crowson grounded into an inning-ending double play. The Golden Eagles (6-6) were limited to two hits on the day and did not advance a runner past second base, finishing 0-for-1 with runners in scoring position. Notre Dame improved to 6-3 with the run-rule victory.
