Tech Baseball Welcomes Ohio for a Four-Game Series at Bush Stadium
Tennessee Tech baseball won its home opener over Lipscomb and stays to host Ohio for a four-game series at Bush Stadium at the Averitt Express Baseball Complex. The series begins on Friday at 3 p.m., continues with a doubleheader on Saturday (12 p.m. & 3:30 p.m.), and concludes with a 1 p.m. first pitch on Sunday.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech baseball won its home opener over Lipscomb and stays to host Ohio for a four-game series at Bush Stadium at the Averitt Express Baseball Complex. The series begins on Friday at 3 p.m., continues with a doubleheader on Saturday (12 p.m. & 3:30 p.m.), and concludes with a 1 p.m. first pitch on Sunday.
The Golden Eagles host Ohio (MAC) for a four-game weekend series. Tech improved to 1-3 overall with a 7-5 win over Lipscomb in the home opener last Tuesday, after dropping the first three at No. 25 Texas A&M to open the campaign. Landon Smelser launched his first two home runs of the season, marking his first two-homer game of his career to help power the win.

Game 1 - Friday, Feb. 20 at 3 p.m.
Game 2 - Saturday, Feb. 21 at 12 p.m.

GOLDEN BATS
- Smelser continued his hot start with two home runs, extending his hitting streak to four games.
- It marked the first multi-home run game of his career.
- Smelser matched his home run total from 2025 (2) in the first home game of 2026.
- Eddie Garza posts his third multi-hit game of the season with a 2-for-4 performance with one run scored.
- Owen Lee notched his first double and drove in his fourth RBI this season.
- Lee has recorded a hit in three of four games to start the season, with one home run.
EAGLES' WINGS
- Jaxson Pease earned his first win of the season, tossing 2.2 scoreless innings with three strikeouts.
- Reece McDuffie (S, 1) slammed the door in the ninth with a strikeout of the only batter he faced.
- Micah Summar tossed 1.2 scoreless with two walks and one strikeout.
- The last three pitchers in Tuesday's contest (Summar, Pease, McDuffie) combined to throw 3 scoreless innings, striking out 4.
OPPO NOTES
- Will Henson leads Ohio with a .500 batting average, recording three two-hit games to start the season.
- Henson went 6-for-12 with one double and three RBI – slashing .583 SLG / .563 OBP.
- Landon Price tossed 3.1 scoreless innings over two relief appearances with one strikeout.
- Price limited batters to .091 average, facing 14 batters.
- Cameron Boyd began the season with three multi-hit games (7x15, .467) against Murray State, including two home runs.
- Boyd notched 2-for-5, 2B, 1 RBI (G1), 3-for-5 1 2B, 1 HR (G2), and 2-for-5, 1 2B, 1 HR, 2 RBI (G3).
The Golden Eagles play one game on Friday, a doubleheader on Saturday, and a single matchup on Sunday to complete their first weekend home series of the year.
