BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech outside hitter Madolyn Isringhausen continued to add to her incredible senior resume Monday afternoon, as the Ohio Valley Conference announced its weekly volleyball honors.
The senior picked up OVC Offensive Player of the Week accolades for the fifth time this season and her career after helping the Golden Eagles to a split weekend at Eastern Illinois. Isringhausen averaged 4.86 kills and 5.43 points per set on a .247 attack percentage.
In the team's four-set loss on Friday, the Edwardsville, Ill. native turned in 19 kills, an ace, and two blocks. She followed it up with an impressive 15 terminations while hitting .294 in Tech's 3-0 sweep of the Panthers on Saturday, chipping in an ace, five digs, and a block.
With her fifth Offensive Player of the Week honor, Isringhausen broke the program record for such accolades in a single season, originally held by Rachel Melchiorre with four in 1997. Only Kappy Lang's six OVC Setter of the Week honors rank higher in terms of weekly recognition from the league.
Tech returns to the Hooper Eblen Center to host Little Rock in a pair of matches next weekend. The Golden Eagles will square off with the Trojans in a 6:00 p.m. CT tilt on Friday, Oct. 25 before wrapping up the weekend with a 7:00 p.m. affair on Saturday, Oct. 26.
