Bio
Ced received his bachelor's degree from TTU in May, and has one
season of eligibility remaining for the Golden Eagles...missed
spring drills with knee surgery, but expected to return to full
strength in the 2009 season...if healthy, he has potential to be a
key player in the backfield...valuable in variety of roles, as a
runner, pass receiver and kick returner...came to Tech as a
transfer from Arkansas State, joining the Golden Eagle program in
January, 2008 in time for spring drills, but knee injury sidelined
him for final two weeks...off to a sensational start before the
knee injury...has the experience to take over the starting
assignment...provides excitement when he's on the field...powerful
and elusive runner...has rushed for 782 yards on 214 career carries
in three season, and has 1,035 all-purpose yards...unbelievable
quickness...has a strong, compact body...great balance...owns one
100-yard rushing game (116 vs. Memphis in 2006).
AT TECH -- (In 2008): Cedric played in the first
11 games of the year before an injury sidelined him in the final
contest...was second on the team in rushing with 305 yards and two
touchdowns in 98 carries...caught 12 passes for 58 yards...led the
team in punt return average, handling eight punts and averaging 9.5
per return...finished the year with 439 all-purpose yards, ranking
fifth on the team...rushed 15 times for season-best 75 yards
against UT Martin...also had 25-yard kick return in the game,
giving him 105 all-purpose yards vs. the Skyhawks.
At Arkansas State: (In 2007) -- Appeared in nine game as a
sophomore and rushed for 143 yards in 35 carries...caught five
passes for 18 yards...had 50 all-purpose yards against Louisville
on Oct. 13, including 40 rushing yards on 11 carries...finished the
year with 161 all-purpose yards. (In 2006): Finished the 2006
season as ASU’s second leading rusher with 362 yards and two
touchdowns as a redshirt freshman...topped the century mark with a
season-high 116 yards against Memphis Oct. 14...also had a
season-long 27 yard run against Memphis...caught 16 passes for 103
yards on the year...had a season-high five catches for 47 yards
Oct. 7 against Louisiana-Monroe...accounted f0r 435 all-purpose
yards in his first season.
(In 2005): Redshirted his first season at Arkansas
State.
HIGH SCHOOL: Two-year starter at tailback...rushed
for 1,663-yards, had 300-yards receiving and tallied a total of 21
touchdowns...returned two kicks for touchdowns and returned a
fumble for a score...rushed for just over 2,000-yards as a junior
and had 400-yards receiving...scored 24 touchdowns that
year...named best running back in 2002 and 2003...Mr. Football
finalist in 2003...selected first-team All-State as a
senior...region’s MVP...played basketball and led the team in
three-point shooting...also ran track.
PERSONAL: Ced was born September 6, 1986 in
Neunberg, Germany...son of Dorothy Wilkerson and the late Donald
Wilkerson...majoring in interdisciplinary studies.
