Tech Women's Golf Opens Play in Diamante Intercollegiate

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. - Tennessee Tech women's golf opens play in the Diamante Intercollegiate at The Diamante Country Club in Hot Springs Village, Ark.
The Golden Eagles posted their highest finish of the season, landing in fourth at the Flyer Invitational at NCR CC Hosted by Dayton last week. The team was led by a solid performance from Chloe Griffith, finishing sixth with a score of 11 over.
Tech has three golfers in the top 10 individual performances within the OVC, with Kaydi Rhodes, Chloe Griffith, and Kailey Lane each averaging around 75 strokes per round. The Golden Eagles are second in the conference in average round score (303.6), trailing only Morehead State, which has played one less round.
Kailey Lane tied for the fourth-lowest single round in the OVC this season, posting a 70 during the second round of the Total Athlete Collegiate (9/8-9/9) to open the campaign.
Kaydi Rhodes leads the team with a 75.0 average over nine rounds during three events this season. She has posted one Top 10 finish and one Top 20 finish. Griffith is second on the team in average per round (75.4), and has posted two Top 10 and two Top 20 finishes.
In total, the Golden Eagles have recorded five Top 10 finishes and seven Top 20 finishes as a four-player team so far this year.

This year's field features several returning programs, including Boston College, last year's runner-up, and Oral Roberts, which tied Little Rock for third. Other teams in the top 10 last fall included California Baptist, Missouri State, Arkansas State, and Central Arkansas.
In total, the Diamante Intercollegiate features 18 teams, including hosts Little Rock, Arkansas State, Ball State, Boston College, Cal Baptist, Central Arkansas, East Texas A&M, Houston Christian, Lipscomb, Memphis, Missouri State, Oral Roberts, Seattle, Stephen F. Austin, and Tennessee Tech.
