Tech women’s golf moves up four spots in round two of Golfweek Fall Challenge

PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. – Improvement was the name of the game for the Tennessee Tech women's golf team in Monday's second round of the Golfweek Fall Challenge at the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawley's Island, S.C.
The Golden Eagles improved by 16 strokes with a second-round 304, pushing the purple and gold up four spots into 16th place. Campbell is leading the field with a 6-under 562, the only school to shoot under par over the first two rounds.
Individually, three of Tech's five saw their scores deflate by at least five stokes, highlighted by Isabel York's eight-stroke improvement with a second-round 79. The 5-foot-4 senior out of Cincinnati moved up four slots into 92nd place.
Ainsley Simms bested her first-round score by five strokes thanks to a second-round 75 to move up seven positions into a tie for 66th. Hannah Bratton showed a six-stroke improvement with a second-round 75 to catapult 10 spots into a tie for 73rd.
Heidi Lawson is the Golden Eagle leader through two rounds after compiling a second-straight 75 on Monday to finish the day tied for 48th. Makenzie Morton rounded out TTU's showing with a second-round 88 and is tied for 96th place.
Camila Moreno out of Central Arkansas and Campbell's Anna Nordfors are tied for the lead with a 5-under 137 through the first two rounds.
The third and final round of the Golfweek Fall Challenge is slated to begin at 6:45 a.m. CT.
