Fall 2021 (Sophomore*): Sutton played in all four of the team’s events in the fall, racking up 12 rounds of action… captured his first career medalist honor at the Battle at Black Creek (Oct. 25-26), matching the fourth-lowest score in program history (set by PGA Tour Pro Scott Stallings in 2005) with a career-low 204… tied his career-low round of 66 at the event, adding to rounds of 71 and 67… locked down a runner-up showing at The Grover Page Classic (Oct. 4-5), posting a first-round 72 followed by back-to-back 68s for a 208… earned a top-10 finish with a 74-68-66=208 at the Golfweek Fall Challenge (Sept. 12-14)… delivered six rounds of 68 or lower during the fall… wrapped up the fall campaign with a scoring average of 70.50.
Spring 2021 (Sophomore): Sutton competed in five of Tech’s six tournaments in the spring, completing 15 rounds of play… produced a season-best 212 with a pair of 72s and a season-best round of 68 at the Bobby Nichols Intercollege (Mar. 14-16), garnering his first career All-Tournament nod… turned in a 74-70-78=222 at The Invitational at Savannah Harbor (Feb. 20-21)… took home the team’s Bobby Nichols Award for Leadership… finished the year with a 75.80 scoring average.
Fall 2020 (Sophomore): The 2020 fall season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Spring 2020 (Freshman): Sutton took part in the team's only event of the spring before the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic… shot a 70-72-74=216 to tie for 24th in a field of 105 at the Bash at the Beach (Mar. 9-10)… was the first recipient of the newly created Coach's Award… finished his rookie season with a 75.06 scoring average.
Fall 2019 (Freshman): Sutton participated in all five of Tech's fall tournaments, totaling 14 rounds of action… made his collegiate debut with a 77-80-68=225 at the EKU Intercollegiate (Sept. 14-15)… the 68 represented his low round of the year… turned in a season-low 76-71-70=217 one week later at the SIUE Derek Dolenc Invitational (Sept. 23-24), tying for 21st… totaled a 77-78=155 at the Intercollegiate at The Grove (Oct. 6-8)… wrapped up the fall with a scoring average of 75.71.
High School: Sutton was a four-time letterwinner under head coach David Scholl at Porter Ridge High School in Indian Trail, N.C…. led his team to a conference title… was named All-Conference each of his four seasons on the team… earned back-to-back Conference Player of the Year accolades and was also the Conference Rookie of the Year… was the Union County champion.
