Military, Public Safety personnel to be honored at Tech football game Thursday
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - Freedom and safety. In recognition of the
men and women who give those gifts to all Americans, Tennessee Tech
will host a couple of special events Thursday night in Tucker
Stadium when the Golden Eagles take the field under coach Watson
Brown.
The Tech Athletics Department will host Military Appreciation Night
and Public Safety Night when the Golden Eagles host Central
Methodist in a non-conference game kicking at 7 p.m. CDT.
Military personnel, both active and retired, as well as persons
working in law enforcement and emergency fields, may receive free
tickets to the game for their immediate family.
"This is just a small token of our appreciation, in relation to
what our servicemen and women and our public safety personnel are
providing to all of us," said Mark Wilson, TTU Athletics Director.
"It's something that Tech athletics can do to say ?thank you' to
them and their families. We're very proud to host this special
event."
The evening festivities will get underway at the Regions Bank
Tailgate Park, which opens at 4 p.m. The pregame activities include
live music, kids games, and an array of other activities.
The night will culminate with another spectacular fireworks display
at the end of the game.
