2007-2008: Diana played at the number two and three spots during her freshman season and won several key matches...played doubles with several different teammates picking up 10 wins...was up on the OVC Player of the Year against Jacksonville State before Tech won the match from other courts...
2008-2009: Though battling injuries throughout the season, Diana's consistent style and fight to win was a big contribution to Tech in the Spring. Only competing in eight matches, Diana was able to take down half of her opponents, two of them being conference matches. Her two conference wins in singles against Tennessee State and Morehead State help lead the Golden Eagles to the conference tournament. In doubles, Diana paired with various partners throughout the year, having the most success with Laura Porras, winning two matches, one of which was a conference win against Tennesse State with a score of 8-0. Diana also had a win against Arkansas-Little Rock with partner Joanna Corkern. In 2008-09 Diana had an overall singles record of 4-4 and a doubles record of 3-5.
Fall 2009: Diana had a record of 1-2 in singles
and 1-3 in doubles with partner Laura Porras in the fall season.
Diana competed in one match in the fall, the 16th Annual Hokie
Invitational, where she had a singles win against Marshall, and a
doubles win with Porras against Appalachian State.
Before Tech: Diana attended Bethiemitas High School of Barrio la Colina, Colombia...was coached by Enrique Pena and Alvaro Quintero...she was the recipient of numerous academic awards...won many tennis tournaments, some of the best being the following national grade 1 tournaments: the Avianca cup championships, the Bi-National Ecuador-Colombian tournament, the Pony Malta cup and the 2007 National Tournament...named the number 1 player in her state of Narino, Colombia in 1999, 2001 and 2006.
