Golden Eagles begin on the road at defending OVC Champions
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - Looking to build on the success of having a
member of the team make the NCAA Tournament, the Tennessee Tech
rifle team begins its campaign for another OVC and NCAA
Championship on the road this weekend taking on defending OVC
champion Jacksonville State.
"We have a strong team this year," said sixth year head coach Steve
Law. "We will be at the top of our game and surprise some schools
this season."
The first opportunity for the the rifle team to show off its new
range is when they host Akron Oct. 11 at 8 a.m. A pair of home
matches against Jacksonville State along with Morehead State and
Murray State.
Tech will also host two prominent tournaments including the annual
Newkirk Invitational Jan. 24-25, with several teams and individuals
from around the country participating. The Golden Eagles will also
host the 2009 OVC Tournament on Feb. 7-8.
