Maegan Smith has joined the Tennessee Tech golf coaching staff as an assistant coach, where she will provide support to head coach Polk Brown and work with both the women's and men's players in 2011-12.

A five-year member of the Golden Eagle women's golf team, Smith played four seasons following a redshirt year in 2004-05 as a true freshman. She quickly emerged as a fixture in the lineup for three seasons under head coach Bobby Nichols, before finishing her senior season for coach Brandy Stout. During her Tech career, she played in 43 tournaments and was chosen team captain for both the 2007-08 and 2008-09 Golden Eagle squads. She helped capture two tournament championships.

One of the top high school players in West Tennessee during her prep career at Gleason High School for coach Sam Guthrie, Maegan was a versatile athlete, earning three letters in golf in addition to three letters in softball and one in basketball. On the golf course, she her team MVP and place, third, second and first in the district tournament in her final three years. She went on to place first, second and sixth in the regional tournaments, and earned a 14th place finish in the TSSAA state tournament as a senior. With the former Maegan Sullivan heading up the lineup, Gleason placed seventh in the state meet in her junior year and fifth in her senior season after capturing both the district and region crowns.

She earned her B.S. degree in Housing in Design in December 2008, and returned to school to finish her minorin Business in May 2009. Following graduation, she worked for one year at the Tennessee Golf Association. She has worked at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center since 2009 as a Patient Representative.

Maegan and her husband, Addison, were married February 26, 2011.
