Brannon made the short journey from Livingston to Cookeville to
join the Golden Eagle roster a year ago and spent his first season
at Tennessee Tech as a redshirt...used his time well with diligent
work in the weight room...increased his strength and speed while
also learning the system...after a year's tutoring on the
sidelines, Brannon will be available to begin seeing playing time
as a redshirt freshman where he is lining up as a
cornerback...could also help on special teams...intelligent player
with a keen insight for the game, having prepped under his father,
assistant coach Danny McCoin, at Livingston Academy.
AT TECH (In 2010): Brannon was on the roster and
spent his initial Golden Eagle season as a redshirt...gained
experience while working with the scout teams.
HIGH SCHOOL: A two-way standout at Livingston
Academy, playing quarterback and cornerback for the
Wildcats...four-year starter...senior season coach was former
Golden Eagle Bruce Lamb...a three-time all-district and all-region
selection as a quarterback...helped lead the Wildcats to the second
round of the TSSAA playoffs as a senior...also played one season on
the basketball squad.
PERSONAL: The son of Danny and Rhonda
McCoin...father Danny was recruited to play quarterback at
Cincinnati by Watson Brown...birthdate is December 9, 1990...full
name is Brannon Tyler McCoin...majoring in nursing.
