Ladarrius was a pleasant addition to the team when he arrived in January, and had a solid Spring...in the mix for the starting role at the Rock position in the defensive line, and will see extensive playing time...true freshman with a great career on the horizon...had a stellar career as a defensive lineman at Riverdale High School...sat out the 2008 Fall semester, and enrolled at Tech in January...showed a solid understanding of Tech's system...as a senior, he was the Class 5A Mr. Football Lineman Award winner and also earned first-team 5A All-State and All-Midstate honors...two-time first-team all-region and all-city selection, he was named to the Tennessean’s Dream Team in 2007, and represented Riverdale High School in the Tennessee Athletic Coaches’ Association East/West All-Star Game...last fall he had the special honor of having his jersey retired at his high school...as a senior, he was credited with 98 total tackles, including 21 tackles-for-loss and 14 quarterback sacks. He also forced two and recovered two fumbles, had two interceptions and scored three defensive touchdowns.
