A versatile defensive force, Kelvin will be a leader for the Golden Eagles during the one season of eligibility he has remaining...elected a team captain for 2009...will be an important player in the defense, and can line up at either the Ram or Bandit positions, depending on personnel groupings...strong at pass rush...established himself with a great spring...very aggressive and tough...excellent football skills and sense...originally signed at Connecticut, he transferred to UAB where he sat out one year under Watson Brown, then played one season in 2007...came to Tech last fall and sat out a redshirt year...participated in spring drills and will be a senior in the fall as a double transfer...in his one season at UAB, he recorded 27 tackles...during his prep career at Meadowcreek High School in Atlanta, Kelvin was named the team’s Defensive MVP as a junior and was picked to play in the Georgia High School All-Star Game following his senior year...as a senior, he was named first-team All-Gwinnett County and first-team all-region...five-time Player of the Month in his final two seasons...as a junior, he had 79 tackles, five quarterback sacks and caused three fumbles...in his senior year, he chalked up 88 total tackles, including eight quarterback sacks...also forced four fumbles and recovered two fumbles, and scored four touchdowns.
