Jason joined the Golden Eagle program in 2008 after two seasons
on the junior college level at Rochester (Minn.) Community
College...strong leg...appeared to win the punting role last season
and did the kicking in the season opener, but injury forced him to
miss the remainder of the season...expected to return to action in
2009 and battle returnee Nick Campbell for the punting
duties...gives the Golden Eagles depth at that crucial
position...averaged 54.5 yards punting in the Purple/Gold game to
wrap up Spring drills.
AT TECH -- In 2008: Jason earned the starting role
at punter, and kicked three times in the season opener against
Gardner-Webb, averaging 31.3 per kick with a long of 40
yards...injured the following week and missed the remaining 11
games.
AT ROCHESTER CC: Jason played two seasons at
Rochester Community College, handling all the punting and kicking
responsibilities...a two-time first-team all-conference
selection...also named first-team all-region both seasons.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2006 graduate of Slinger (Wis.)
High School...lettered in three sports, participating in football,
baseball and track & field...named second-team all-conference
as a senior.
PERSONAL: The son of Joseph and Mary Ann
Lennartz...birthday is May 18, 1988...enrolled in general
curriculum.
