At Tech (In 2007): Gerel's first year on the Golden Eagle roster found him in a redshirt role.

HIGH SCHOOL: One of two Cookeville High School products fron the Cavaliers' 2007 senior class..played alongside Shane Bates at CHS under coach Jerry Joslin...won the school's Jim Ragland Award while earning first-team all-Region 3-5A and all-Upper Cumberland first-team honors...real speedster, he was also the district champion in the 100-meter dash during the track & field season.
