position, and is considered a co-starter...slated for plenty of
action as a senior...a two-year starter, he continued his
development through a good Spring performance...a vocal leader who
is always going full-speed...lost some weight and added to his
quickness a year ago, and that showed up on the field...has
continued to gain strength through his dedication in the weight
room...selected as a team captain for the 2009 season...fifth-year
senior with three seasons of experience...rarely makes
mistakes...should be among the team's top pass rushers...comes into
the season with 76 total tackles...tops on the team with 11.5
career tackles-for-loss and five quarterback sacks.
AT TECH - (In 2008): Brendon started all 12 games
up front for the Golden Eagle defense and made 32 total
tackles...had 6.0 tackles-for-loss for 25 yards...also notched 2.5
quarterback sacks...one fumble recovery against UT Martin...matched
his career-high with five tackles against Eastern Kentucky...also
had a tackle-for-loss and quarterback sack vs. the Colonels...had
four tackles in games against Eastern Illinois, Tennessee State, UT
Martin, Central Methodist and Southeast Missouri.
(In 2007): Brendon started all 11 games as a
sophomore and ranked third on the team in tackles among the
defensive linemen behind all-OVC tackles Geoffrey Woods and John
Jackson...made 35 total tackles, including nine solo...had 5.5
tackles-for-loss for 22 yard and chalked up 2.5 sacks for 17
yards...had career-high five tackles against Concordia, Murray
State and Austin Peay.
(In 2006): Brendon saw limited action in eight
games...tallied nine total tackles...best game came early in the
year at Gardner-Webb when he had four tackles and one QB hurry.
(In 2005): Brendon spent his first season on the
roster as a redshirt.
HIGH SCHOOL: Brendon lettered all four seasons as
a defensive end for coach Maurice Belsar at Rickards High
School…voted team captain in his senior season…named
to the third-team all-Big Bend...won the Will-To-Win Athlete of the
Year award...as a senior, he had 89 tackles and eight sacks, caused
12 fumbles and recovered eight...in his career he posted 237
tackles and 17 sacks...forced 20 fumbles and recovered 13...helped
his squad win the 2001 district championship, while finishing as
runner-up twice.
