Purple Pride Caravan will travel to Livingston and McMinnville

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech’s Purple Pride Caravan makes two stops this week, passing through Livingston on Tuesday and McMinnville on Thursday, both at 5 p.m.

This week’s stops mark the halfway point in the caravan tour, which are planned in communities around the region in anticipation of upcoming sports seasons. Each caravan is free and fans can enjoy hot dogs and Pepsi soft drinks, and sign up for a grand prize drawing.

Tuesday’s stop will be in Livingston, hosted by Jerry’s IGA. The Purple Pride Caravan will then continue on to McMinnville Thursday, at the McMinnville Wal-Mart.

Each caravan will provide a tailgating atmosphere which gives fans a chance to meet with coaches, cheerleaders and Tech mascot Awesome Eagle. One of many prizes to register for is a trip for two with the Golden Eagle football team to their Sept. 15 game at the University of Oregon.  All prizes are sponsored by Magic 98.5, Pepsi, IGA, Wal-Mart and TTUsports.com.

As a special feature, Magic 98.5 (the home of the Golden Eagle football broadcasts) will be registering people at each of the stops for the grand prize.

No winners will be selected below the age of 18. Winners may not be a high school student-athlete or immediate family member of an athlete without jeopardizing collegiate eligibility at an NCAA institution. Following stops in Livingston and McMinnville, the Purple Pride Caravan will also visit Sparta and Cookeville before wrapping up at the Algood Wal-Mart on Aug. 28, just two days before the Golden Eagle season opener in Tucker Stadium on Aug. 30.
