COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Awesome Eagle is in the race, and is currently
either first, second or third in the voting in the OVC Mascot
Challenge, presented by Delta Dental. Fans can log on and vote for
their favorite mascot, and three OVC characters are waging a battle
for the lead.
Awesome Eagle was atop the list at the end of the day Monday, but
by Tuesday morning had slipped to third behind Belmont and Murray
State. By mid-morning Tuesday, Awesome had climbed back to second
place.
In short, Awesome Eagle needs the support of Tennessee Tech fans
with their vote. Fans can vote each day, and the balloting will run
through March 7, so it will take a sustained, concerted effort.
The winner of the challenge will receive a $1,000 donation to the
school's general scholarship fund, so there's more to this voting
than a simple popularity contest. Every vote toward a victory by
Awesome Eagle will help benefit Tennessee Tech financially.
