Golden Eagle student-athletes exhibiting Christmas Spirit

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- From ringing bells to solicit donations for
the Cookeville Rescue Mission, to building a float and walking in
the annual Cookeville Christmas Parade, student-athletes from
Tennessee Tech are exhibiting plenty of Christmas spirit this month
with their participation in a variety of holiday happenings around
the community.
Members of the baseball team recently spent a couple of days
outside the entrance to Spring Street Market, ringing bells to help
solicit donations for the Cookeville Rescue Mission.
On Monday, Dec. 3, a large number of Golden Eagle student-athletes
were on the streets of Cookeville greeting families lining the
route of the annual Cookeville Christmas Parade. The TTU
Student-Athete Advisory Committee (SAAC) spearheads the effort,
building a float which this year reflected some of the many
championships won by Tech teams through the years. Director of
Athletics Mark Wilson drove a truck that followed the float.
Earlier, members of the Tech softball team joined forces with
Operation Christmas Child Samaritan's Purse in a holiday
project, creating boxes to be sent to unprivileged children
across the globe.
