Camp Central: Tech announces individual and team camps for upcoming months
Several Golden Eagle athletic programs will host a variety of annual individual and team summer camps beginning on Tuesday, May 29 and going through August 3.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Several different Golden Eagle athletic
programs will host a wide array of summer camps over the next few
months, camps that are open to individuals and teams throughout the
Cookeville community, Upper Cumberland and across the South. Among
the sports offering camps are the football program, men’s
basketball program, the baseball and softball teams and the
volleyball team.
Summer camps will kick off on May 29 with the Watson Brown Soaring Eagle Football camp, a day camp open to young football players ranging from kindergarten age through eighth grade. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 29-31, and costs $100 per camper.
The football program will also offer a 7-on-7 Passing Camp, a high school mini camp and the annual team camp. The 7-on-7 camp will begin at 4 p.m. on Friday, July 20 and is open to teams of all sizes at a cost of $150 per team. High school mini camp will run from 4 p.m. through 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 21 and is open to young men in grades nine through 12 at a cost of $30 per camper.
Team camp will run from July 29-Aug. 3 and will close out the Golden Eagle summer camp schedule. The camp is broken down into two sessions from Sunday, July 29 at 2 p.m. through Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 11 a.m., and Tuesday, July 31 at 5:30 p.m. through Friday, Aug. 3. after lunch. The cost is $150 per person, with a $500 non-refundable deposit per team due by June 1. Large teams may qualify for group discounts.

The TTU men’s basketball program will host one individual camp from June 3-6 (Sunday-Wednesday,) open to boys ages eight to 18. The cost of the camp is $275 for overnight campers and $225 for day campers. A $50 deposit is due with each application, and individuals applying in groups of three of more will receive a $10 discount per application.
Three different men’s basketball team camps will also be hosted over the course of two weeks in June. The first and third sessions will be open to high school and junior high school players and will be held from June 11-13 and June 20-22. The second session will be open to high school aged campers only, and will run from June 17-19.
Teams electing to board during camps will be charged $225 per team plus $165 per individual player, and a fee of $75 for each assistant or non-playing manager or bus drive. Commuting teams will pay the standard $225 team fee, while players with meals will be charged $100 individually and players without meals will be charged $75.
Baseball coach Matt Bragga and his staff will host camp from June 11-14 at a cost of $155 per camper. The Golden Eagle showcase camp welcomes players from ages 6-14, and will run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on Thursday June 14.
Tory Acheson and his staff will host a pitching and catching clinic on June 12 from 1 p.m.-4 p.m., and the championship softball mini-camp from June 13-14 from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. each day. A college prep seminar will also be offered on June 13. The cost of the mini-camp is $80 in advance, $90 at the door. The pitching/catching clinic will cost $50 prior to June 5 and $60 at the door, while the seminar alone costs $30 in advance, $40 at the door.
The softball program will offer a similar mini-camp series from Dec. 28-30. Family and team discounts are available.
Finally, head coach John Blair and his staff will host three separate clinics for aspiring volleyball players. The defensive clinic and setting clinic will be held on July 14 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., while the hitting clinic will be hosted on July 21 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. All clinics are open to campers ages 13-18, grades 7-12, and will cost $75 individually, $140 for two workshops or $200 for all three clinics.
