Leveda Birdwell moved into a new role in Jnauary, 2012, as
Director of Corporate Sales and Marketing for the Tennessee Tech
A two-time graduate of Tech with bachelor’s and master’s degrees, Birdwell, 25, has become a familiar face within the Athletics Dept. She spent the previous year as Academics Coordinator for Golden Eagle student-athletes after two years as a graduate assistant in the Corporate Sales and Marketing Department.
In her new position, Birdwell oversees the Athletics Department's corporate sales program, including arena and stadium signage, program advertising, game sponsorships, website sponsorships as well as other sponsorship opportunities. She will also direct Tech’s season ticket sales campaigns along with the marketing and promotions efforts for the university's 14 Division I sports programs.
Following receipt of her master’s degree, Birdwell joined the Athletics Academic Advising Staff in December, 2010. She worked as an Academic Coordinator for Assistant Athletic Director for Academics, Dr. Lance Jasitt.
In her recent position as Academic Coordinator, Birdwell worked in the management of Tennessee Tech's student-athlete records, helped to develop and maintain an Athletics Academic web page to improve communications with student-athletes, assisted in monitoring eligibility with NCAA standards, and provided support and resources that helped move Tech's student-athletes toward graduation.
A 2004 graduate of Red Boiling Springs High School, Birdwell subsequently gained experience in marketing as an intern at Clear Channel Communications during the summer of 2007.
After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Marketing) in 2008, she began a two-year Graduate Assistant position in the Corporate Sales and Marketing Department, where her responsibilities included sales, organizing the official football tailgate events, booking halftime entertainment at basketball games, and a variety of other duties. She received her MBA in Business Management in May, 2010.
