2016 (Junior): Owens started in all 21 matches for TTU…accumulated 1,949 minutes on the pitch, the fourth most on the team…named to the All-OVC second team for the second consecutive season…three-time OVC Player of the Week (twice defensive, once offensive)…led the OVC with eight assists…tied for the team lead with 14 points, tanking in a tie for eighth in the conference…tied for third on the team with three goals…tied for third on the team with 30 shots…tied for first on the team with 19 shots on goal and had a .633 shot on-goal percentage…took 96 of Tech’s 97 corners on the season…had a career-high four points with a goal and two assists in a 3-0 win over Mercer on Aug. 28…tied a career-high with four points behind a goal and two assists in a 3-0 victory at Middle Tennessee on Sept. 9…took a season-high four shots and collected an assist in a 1-1 draw with ETSU on Sept. 11…had a three-point day with a goal and an assist in a 2-1 victory against Jacksonville State on Sept. 23…played all 90 minutes and took three shots in a 1-0 win over SEMO on Oct. 14…played all 90 minutes, took two shots and had an assist in a 2-0 victory over Eastern Illinois on Oct. 32…played all 110 minutes, had three shots, two of which were on-goal in a match that went to penalty kicks in the OVC Tournament semifinals against Eastern Kentucky on Nov. 4.

After peppering the Morehead State goal with 12 corner kicks and plenty of offensive opportunities, it took awhile for the Tennessee Tech soccer team to wear down the visiting Eagles like a prize fighter. But once Cookeville native Kendall Powell saw the feed from Tina Marolt to the right and then from Kaitie Shipley, it was enough for the knockout punch. Powell drove the ball to the left corner past a diving Michelle Washburn, giving the Golden Eagles a 1-0 victory on Friday at the Tech Soccer Field.
